Taking a Jersey Girl shooting
Since I have returned to my civillian job last week, I have been telling my friends about the guns I bought in the last 2 years. In walks the new girl and she introduced herself and kind of joined in the conversation.
She is 20 something and has been living in NJ her whole life except the 4 years she spent in the Army. She has not even seen a gun other than TV/LEOs in the last 3 years. She was very surprised to hear that on the other side of the river, we can have any gun we want. She told me about the trouble she had when she tried to buy a pistol in NJ.
Fast forward to today, she came into my office and asked where she could go to shoot in Pa. We talked a few minutes, turns out she wanted to go somewhere and rent a pistol for a few hours.
Long story short, I am going to take her shooting next weekend. I haven't decided where I should take her but boy is she excited about it.When you are called a racist, it just means you won an argument with an Obama supporter.

Re: Taking a Jersey Girl shooting
I find going to the range is a great early date. You just have to find one that's not a crazy.

Re: Taking a Jersey Girl shooting
Depending on where she lives in NJ, the MWR Range at Dix (Range 14 on the Cookstown Road) isn't too bad. Something like $30 for current .mil and $60 for civilians, per annum. After she gets her FOID card and weapon(s)-of-choice, that might be a good place for her to practice.
