Looks like the bears are on the move in Slocum Twp/ Alden
Today I had the second sighting in my last two trips to my parents of bears at the top of the Alden mtn. and near the mud pond. I dont know if it was the same one but they looked about the same weight 250-300lbs aprox. (total guess). I lived up there for 6 years and only saw a bear once before about 4 years ago. has anyone else been lucky enough to see any?

Haven't see any on this side of the river yet. usually we get quite a few bear calls or sightings. I know I've been seeing a little more deer movement. No racks yet, but quite a few does.

we have a bear that visits my neighbors property frequently but I have yet to see him. I seem to recall that the last snow storm I saw tracks that looked like they came from a bear near our trash cans, but, as of yet I havn't seen any.

I see bears all the time. We have one roaming our development here in Fairview Twp (Mtn Top).

I saw a Mother (about 200lbs) and 4 cubs (Yes 4!!!???) running through the woods above my house 2 deer seasons ago, haven't seen any around my place since. Saw a very large (approx 450lb+) bear in my cousins front yard in the development on the top of Honeypot Mt in Nanticoke/Newport. I do know a lot of people that live in developments that regularly see bears. More people, more garbage, more food for the bears. The seem to be shifting towards those types of areas.

Just had 2 sightings of bears in Claysville recently (last week for one).
One was on my buddies farm. The other (180 lbs weighed by PGC) was tranquilled and taken to Uniontown area. (This is not confirmed).
So there's still one roaming the area.

I almost hit a HUGE black bear today.
Went to DNR in Nanticoke to get my hunting licenses. On the way back over Alden Mtn, almost to Naungola a mature Blackie ran right in front of us. I slammed the breaks (was only doing 35) and grabbed my phone. By the time I selected camera function he was gone in the woods beyond the clearing on our side of the road. First time my son (5) has seen a bear. He was pretty psyched

Same thing that happens every time I see something cool. The camera phone is useless. Thats why I carry my regular camera in the cup holder.

Well, the bears are still moving. Just got back from a street in Plymouth. Seems there was a bear wandering around the guys front yard. he said it was a monster!
Well, I spotted this "monster" over by the ball fields and the bear went about 150# or so. I was about 20' from the bear but couldn't get a picture with my cell phone camera. He was last seen heading back into the woods.
