Two men have been taken into custody after shots were fired outside the Sunoco station across from the Gold Star Diner on Route 115 in Effort.
The incident happened about 3:40 p.m. At least 11 police cars were on the scene and police were apparently searching the scene for shell casings. They closed the parking lot while they were interviewing witness and investigating.
At least two shots were fired, according to witnesses.

Awesome. This gas station is about a mile from my house, the one I stop at before heading out somewhere, or on the way home. I OC there multiple times a week. The employee's have even come to my defense on occasion stating that OC is legal, when questioned by other customers in line..
What the hell is happening here? This shit is really getting old...Last edited by jcabin; December 27th, 2009 at 09:16 PM.

What you are not up to speed on the migratory patterns of the North American Thugs? Or the Biker gangs that have an increasing presence in Monroe county?
Sorry for the poor attempt at humor, but that is the truth. Too many people moving from the city to get away from the trouble. Problem is, the "thug life" follows them.
The I80 corridor is now a major route for drug trade. Where there are illegal drugs there are biker gangs and gangstas. When you are called a racist, it just means you won an argument with an Obama supporter.

Holy crap! My son drives past there daily going to and from just about anywhere. It's unnerving to say the least when it's that close to home.

This presents a major problem. We own guns to protect ourselves an our families. With organized crime going on in our neighborhood we have a lot more to worry about.
Example:
An OC/CC'er defends him/herself against a gang member and the gang member ends up dead. Now the OC/CC'er has to worry about the gang "getting even".
I am not saying this would have an impact on whether or not I would shoot, I am simply stating that after a SD shooting, we may have to increase situational awareness or re-locate.When you are called a racist, it just means you won an argument with an Obama supporter.

Re: Two men in custody after shots fired at Effort gas station
Fun. I've been there a few times to grab smokes and such on my way to/from the hardware store. Seems anymore that we never go that direction when we're up there (115 and 940), or too many other directions. Bought the place to "get away", now we're trying to get "away" from the cabin. It's amazing the places that have closed up in the two years since we bought up there, and it seems the "desolation" attracts riff raff. Hear about more shootings and other crime than I ever remember while growing up, and I've been visiting the area since I was 5. Shame.
