Apostrophes changing to asterisks
Whenever I post or comment or reply or anything like that any of my apostrophes get changed to asterisks. It’s been happening for probably a few years now. I remember reading something about it here after an update or something like that. I tried searching and only found one old thread from 2020 with no real help in it. I just figured I’d ask about it and see if anyone had any thoughts or ideas. It happens when I post using my iPhone 13 Pro Max but it happened on my last phone too, an iPhone XR.
Examples where I’m posting apostrophes:
What’s

We’re
I also noticed when I try typing three periods in a row it replaces that with an asterisk as well… like this.

Re: Apostrophes changing to asterisks
Now I guess the forum is making me a liar. Lol. Everything I just posted above looks fine. But I posted a little earlier in the latest Oaks show thread and it gave me asterisks.

Edit: but if I edit this post and add apostrophes it*s making the asterisks.

Further testing. It seems if I crate a post/reply and preview it beforehand then post it the apostrophes stay. If I don’t preview it they become asterisks.
I’m using preview post before submitting it here.

About 80% of the time, when I click the back button on my mouse, it goes back two pages, not one.

Re: Apostrophes changing to asterisks
When I post from my iPhone or iPad I get asterisks.
When I post from my laptop I get apostrophes.
Not worrying about it for a while now.

I can assure you that it isn't the website, it is your device's ability to translate text correctly and send it.

Re: Apostrophes changing to asterisks
It only happens to me when I post on my iPhone or copy and paste from an outside article.
