new way to save money
so i have been buying lead bullets (cheaper than most), but i have been throwing them away when i shoot, so finally i came up with the idea of using a trap, well many hours of torching grinding welding and a few hundred pounds of steel later here is what i came up with.
i still need to make a target backer and a collection bin but it does work.

Looking good and a great idea.I have been thinking of making one out of a long wood box filled with ground up rubber

just turn the back end into a snail trap and no need for the sand.

How thick is the steel and is that the thinnest one should use for a bullet trap?

Re: new way to save money
it is a snail style trap
it is made of 1/4 inch steel. i hope to be able to shoot a 500 s&w mag into it at 10 yards. so far the biggest thing i shot into it is a full house 357 mag and a 12 gauge 00 buck shot. you could make it thiner if you want to shoot smaller rounds 3/16 should be fine for 9mm and 1/8 for rim fire.
