    Default Taurus Judge revolver

I bought a new Taurus Judge and im having problems sometimes in that the cylinder won't turn when firing.I was told by Taurus to try different ammo.
someone also said it might be a burr and if so where would it be?
    Has anyone had this problem?

I know a guy who had the same problem. He ended up sending it back to Taurus. He later traded it in.

What type and brand of ammo were you using when this happened?

Did it happen with shotshells or .45 colt?
What brand shotshells were you using?

Does the cylinder rotate normally without any ammo in it?
Does the cylinder rotate normally when you pull back on the hammer?

Let us know, might be something simple.

The Taurus judge is actually a quality firearm, probably something simple, do the checks i posted and and post back with your findings, Smith & Wesson and Ruger have huge service departments because like every other gun maker they put out crap too.

Quoted for truth. I would never trust my life to a Taurus handgun of any kind.

I have been using Blazer ammo and it jammed when I used it after about 20 shots. It seems to happen every 20 shots. If I use Federal .410 shotshells,no problems.I bought Cowboy loads in 250 grain.I hope these work.If not I might send it back
The cylinder rotates normally without ammo in and when I pull back hammer.
Is it possible the alloy ammo expands too much? Thankl you

Then Andy your problem is solved, you solved it your self, the problem is not the gun its the ammo, the "problem" is Taurus revolvers are built very tightly, 0.004 in compared to Smith's 0.006 in at the cylinder gap , soot is building up at the gap and binding up the cylinder . The Blazer ammo you used is notorious for this and the Comboy ammo you replaced it with is probably even Worse.

Sine there is nothing mechanically wrong with your Gun its a waste of time sending it to Taurus, just use quality ammo in it.
I use Winchester Silvertips in mine and the Gun remains nice and clean no problems whatsoever, and very accurate too.

    Mr NYMAN
Why would Taurus make the cylinder gap that tight??
I'm sure this problem has happened many times before.
Knowing that why would they keep making their guns like this/.
Also they told me to use SAMMI approved ammo. They told me it should be
marked on the box. I can't find that marking anywhere.I wil try the winchester silver tips and see what happens. Please respond thanks
