There is no way...
There is no way my employer can search my vehicle without a warrant right?
The NEW policy is no cell phones on the property, not even in your car. WTF? Driving to and from work in about 80% of the reason I carry a phone. If they see me talking on it pulling into the lot they seem to think they can search my vehicle and punish me for a violation of company policy. Before you say it, I am already looking, but in the interim, I believe they are planning to use the 1930's central European tactics. It seems they want us to rat each other out for the possession of cell phones on the property, so it will get ugly. This is OUT OF CONTROL, damn, it's a cell phone not a Claymore.
In the event they do choose to search my car, you will not hear about until my attorney gives me the OK (and I am sleeping on a bed of $50 dollar bills.)

Park off property, they have no rights there.
If you are parking on their property, you have to abide by their rules.

Re: There is no way...
If your vehicle is locked then they can't get in without your permission. They can fire you if you refuse to let them look, but they can't smash their way into your car or take your keys by force.
If the car is not locked, then I don't know what the law is. Entering a vehicle without permission sounds like something that should not be legal, but if you don't steal anything, what is the crime?Last edited by Philbert; August 10th, 2009 at 12:10 AM.

I thought that inside your car is considered your property and not the companies?
