Armed Suspect Shot By Upper Darby Delivery Decoy
http://cbs3.com/topstories/shooting....2.1321742.html
UPPER DARBY (CBS 3)
An armed suspected was shot in Delaware County after attempting to rob an undercover detective posing as a pizza deliveryman Wednesday night.
Verona Pizza on W. Chester Pike in Upper Darby contacted police after receiving a suspicious delivery order at about 11 p.m.
Delivery drivers at the business have been held up at least three times in recent weeks.
An undercover detective stood in as a decoy, making the delivery near Delaware and South Harwood Avenues. Once at the address, a masked suspect armed with a gun jumped out from the bushes and rushed towards the officer.
Despite a warning, the suspect continued to rush forwards, forcing the detective to fire once shot which struck the suspect in the torso.
The wounded suspect was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in serious, but stable condition. The detective was not injured in the incident.
Following the shooting, police began pursuit of an apparent getaway vehicle. One female suspect was apprehended as she attempted to flee the vehicle. A second male suspect is still on the loose.
The incident remains under investigation.

Yea, the guy will get off on a technologically, entrapment or something, then sue the city.
Heck we can't even get the DPW to deliver pizza here, let alone the police.

If God didn't intend us to have guns why would he have given us a trigger finger?

These types of criminals are idiots! It takes a real brain dead person to "plan," and then call up a pizza place to more or less "order a victim" that's likely to be carrying nothing more then pocket change.
Lazy, stupid and deserves what he got. The cop should have wrapped the hot pizza around his face.

Tell me that Detective did not have his "pucker factor" on high. Having a high probability of contact, walking into the opposition's pre-determined ambush or kill zone. All while still keeping up the appearance of the pretext and not showing or telegraphing his intentions.
Hats off to the LEOs on this one. I wonder if they had any debate about who would play the deliveryman? I wonder if it went to the "best" shooter present?
Be safe (and the quick, not the dead).

Let's take this opportunity to applaud that cop, who knowingly went out to be robbed.
The worst I risk in my job is a paper cut. Good police work is priceless, and it shouldn't be taken for granted, or swept under the rug while we justifiably savage the bad cops.

Was this cop Rambo or something? This is completely nuts. He volunteered to get a gun pulled on him. Then, (presumably) with the gun pointed at him warned this guy.
There is usually information missing, I hope the plan was better than that.

I don't know, there are units that do just that. My Father was Philadelphia PD Highway but often did work with the Stakeout units, I am talking in the 1960's. Those guys would get a tip that a certain place was going to be "hit" and sit and wait, many times filling the roll of an employee. They were gunfighters in the true sense of the word. Often times they would get an opportunity to set up the scene in there favor, but still, these guys sat and waited for a gunfight to come to them.
This scenario would be tough due to the time constraints. Ballsy, I say, Ballsy!
Be safe (and victory goes to the shooters!).
