Default guns recorded in a database as being sold to me

i purchased quite a few guns from firearms unlimited....it seems they are now closed. since there is no "gun registration"...is there a record of my guns purchased there? is it recorded in a database as being sold to me somewhere? if so...where is this list? batf, state police? anybody know?

    thanks in advance...

I believe when a FFL goes out of business all it's records are turned into and stored for reference by the ATF.

I believe the records go back only if he gives up the ffl.

The business would retain their records unless they either surrender or fail to renew their ffl when it is due. If they do either of the above they have 5 days to notify the atf and turn in their records. If the individual as you say closed shop but is operating out of his house he would still retain them.

There is also a time limit as to how long the records must be retained. 20 years I think. I know of at least one ffl who retained his records long enough to destroy them. he retained his FFL and sold just enough guns to pay for his FFL. I think his dealings in the later years was exclusively shotguns.

While there is no gun registration there is a 'sales database' for handguns...
