Bestow "In Memoriam" title to Lambo?
A request has been made to bestow an honorary title to user Lambo, who has recently passed away. As per the public discussion outlining this process:
http://forum.pafoa.org/support-sugge...ssed-away.html
a "nomination" was made to the staff, and a majority of the staff voted in favor. The next step in the process is a public referendum, which will be open for one week.
So, what say you all? Do you as PAFOA users wish to bestow a honorary title to Lambo?Last edited by ChamberedRound; August 15th, 2010 at 07:49 AM. Reason: Fixed link

While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Re: Bestow "In Memoriam" title to Lambo?
Perhaps/hopefully i'm taking this thread the wrong way, but I dont see why it should be a popularity contest? If someone that has passed on can be verified as a member why would they not be remembered?
In short, yes.

Re: Bestow "In Memoriam" title to Lambo?
I'm not big on polls, but for any registered member who posted at least occasionally, as long as they weren't killed in the commission of a crime, what would it hurt to note their passing?
I don't see much benefit, either. The dead remain dead, each person's passing is what it is, nobody's going to say "Bob's dead, but at least he has an asterisk after his name on a website.". But I don't see any harm. If it's a comfort to someone, then go for it. We leave little enough in this world after we're gone, might as well leave some footprints where we spent time.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

Re: Bestow "In Memoriam" title to Lambo?
This isn't meant to be a popularity contest, or anything else of the like. The poll, as per the previously discussed thread, is meant to give members an opportunity to voice their opinions on said user titles, to make sure we don't mistakenly bestow an honor upon someone who may not be deserving.
All of this was discussed in the previous thread where the process currently being employed was suggested. Please do not discuss, debate, or argue the process in this thread any further. Either vote, or don't vote. If you believe the process can be improved, please read through and make suggestions in the above referenced thread.Last edited by ChamberedRound; August 15th, 2010 at 07:56 AM.
