According to a Senate aide, the White House is now threatening to put Nebraska’s Offutt Air Force Base on the BRAC list if Nelson doesn’t fall into line.

Offutt Air Force Base employs some 10,000 military and federal employees in Southeastern Nebraska. As our source put it, this is a “naked effort by Rahm Emanuel and the White House to extort Nelson’s vote.” They are “threatening to close a base vital to national security for what?” asked the Senate staffer.

This is the same type of shit they did to Lieberman to get him on board, only this is to a greater magnitude.

Lieberman's wife is an international ambasador for the Susan Kohlman (sp?) Cancer Foundation and there were calls for her to be fired if Joe didn't support the reform.

If you look I'm sure just about EVERY SINGLE vote got bought off on, I know some states (Nevada?) are specifically exempt from paying for this for the next 5 years even though they will get the benefits
