Default A few positive CC/OC incidents

First; conceled carry incident. Thursday of last week I had to go to the Westmoreland County courthouse to renew my Pa. license to sell firearms. As I was on my way back from a gun buying trip and had a car full of firearms, plus a wallet full of cash, I was of course carrying. Having done this before I knew the drill at the front entrance. I walked in, asked to speak to one of the deputies on duty at the front and informed him I was carrying. He escorted me to the front security desk and turned me over to another officer who asked for my LTCF and where I needed to go in the courthouse. I produced my LTCF and told him "sheriff's office". He gave me back my LTCF and showed me to the row of lock boxes and told me to pick one and log my name, weapon type and SN into the logbook. I did so, took the key and went about my business at the sheriff's office. Upon my return I logged out, retrieved my pistol and was politely escorted to the door. All personell were friendly and respectful as was I. Kudos to them.

Second; OC at Applebys in Audobon, Pa. After the gun show at Oaks Sunday evening I was really famished and needed a break before the long drive home, I decided I deserved a nice dinner. I had found the Applebys on my exploritory jaunt a few days before and thought that would be just the spot to get a good burger. I went in, got escorted to my seat, took of my coat and sat down. Not even a look by the hostess, the waitress and the other patrons at my holstered Sig. Not that I stood or sat in any way as to make it obvious. Dinner was GREAT BTW and the waitress was very sweet.

So, two up and two positive encounters.

Because that's what the form of the logbook was and the officer requested me to do so. The SNs in the logbook were in there to maybe be certain that if any questions ever arose over the proper firearm being retrieved by the correct person, said questions could be properly addressed.

That's what I have ever been told as well. There is a place for the S/N in the book at the York County courthouse, but they have never asked for it. However they made a point of it at the Capitol at Harrisburg for the last rally I attended, and they said exactly that, to ensure that the right firearm is matched to the right person. Perhaps because there were so many of us.

ScotsGuards - I'm glad your experiences were relatively uneventful and positive, thanks for posting.

While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Depending on the day in York, if it's a court day. Lasdt time I was there I needed to log the SN, they ran out of boxes and I had to put my Sig in the same one as some LEO's Glock..... how embarrassing
