Boy leads state police on high speed chase

An 11-year-old boy who stole his foster mother's car and led police on a high speed chase last night faces assault and other charges.

Police were summoned around 9 p.m. because the boy was in the process of stealing the white compact station wagon from the North Strabane home where he had been living with his foster mother, Eileen Shutok-Cutright, 49, state police in Washington County said.

Troopers spotted the car at about 9:15 p.m. and began to pursue it.

The boy reportedly drove at speeds in excess of 80 mph on Interstate 70 and other state roads.

The chase ended in Somerset Township where the fleeing car struck a a state police cruiser and a utility pole.

No injuries have been reported.
