    Smile M91/30 Sniper

Hi I'm new to the site, I have a 1945 M44 and I have been trying to find a M91/30 Sniper. If anyone knows where to get one that would be great. Thanks

Try Classic Arms. They have it listed.

The ones that have been selling for $350-$450 are "reproductions" - which is a nice way of saying they are faker than a $3 bill. Supposedly the scopes are refurbed scopes from sometime between 1940's and last week, on repro mounts and mounted to any old M91/30. For most people, this fits the bill! It looks the part. However, the rifle isn't selected or tweaked for accuracy, so it could shoot the wings off a fly or miss the broadside of a barn (same as any other 91/30!)

The only place I know who are selling REAL snipers is Rguns for $800:

This apparently was a great deal when they first started selling them, but now it is just OK. The rifles at the bottom of the pile are being reported with less-than-desirable finish and non-matching numbers. Still, real snipers at gun shows have had $1000 and up price tags...

If you do a search over at gunboards.com you'll see a ton of reports from people who bought them. Good luck!

Yup all depends on what you want. If you want it to look the part, but really isn't - classic arms is a great bunch of guys.
If you want the real deal, the Rguns is the only place to go. Beware though, even some reports from the gunboards guys about Rguns is that they are getting tot he bottom of the barrel so to speak on their 91/30 snipers and the quality that people are receiving is going down a bit. Still real matched snipers, but bore and fit and finish is a little lower than when they started selling them.
