I saw it at the local gun shop and it has the "door breacher" barrel, my question is: Can you run anything through this? or because of the barrel can you only run certain rounds through it?

I have this shotgun...I always run 00 buckshot through mine...but it is like any other mossberg 500 and you can shoot what you like out of it...the breacher is on there for militay and police use breacher loads to get rid of excess gases from the loads...but it also does serve as a great muzzle break when you shoot it compared to there regular 20'' barrel cruiser...believe it or not the 20'' kicks more...but I love mine I would buy another if I could find one

I've got this gun and run 2 3/4 and 3" 00 buck and slugs through it all day long. Do yourself a favor and buy a stock for it!

you can run any 2 3/4" or 3" load through it. about the only thing you can't are sabot slugs; i contacted mossberg when i owned the model you're talking about, and that's the answer they gave me. #00 buckshot, tungsten/steel shot, rifled slugs, game loads, whatever. it'll shoot them. like chrisaka said, get yourself a shoulderstock for it. ATI is cheap and works, Knoxx cut the recoil by 50%, but are pricier (but worth it).

The 500 series isn't designed to shoot 3 1/2 inch shells. In fact I don't think the ejection port is even big enough to load one.

The 835,935 are the 3.5 guns.

500's are ony good to 3"
