industrial supply retail outlets
I'm trying to update the basement / workshop with good two high quality workbenches, one of which I need to be mobile.
I found these which are very near ideal.

Problem is they're too heavy for UPS and have to be shipped truck freight and that isn't practical.
Does anyone know of an industrial supply outlet that does retails sales in the Pittsburgh area or at least within about a 50 mile radius of the city where I can buy something like these? There is a Grainger branch very near to me in RIDC industrial park off Rt 28 near harmar twp but I don't think they do retail sales.

You pretty much need to be a business to get stuff from Grainger. It is easy enough if you bring in a biz card and some company letter head to set up an account. Call your local branch for specifics.
BUT, they look to be about $75 more a piece. For that you should easily cover freight.

They don't have a place real close but I would try McMaster-Carr. I think they serve all of the country but I don't know that for certain since we've used them locally.

As a last resort I have an industrial service company that has accounts with all these guys.

Try Grizzly.com freight is reasonable and I buy from Grainger locally a few times a month without incident.

You could try a restaurant supply store. A mobile food prep table would look quite a bit like the one with wheels. I've never had a problem buying from Grainger as an individual, if you want to go that route.

I've bought from the Grainger branch in York as an individual.
Maybe Harbor Freight would have what you need?Adams County Sport Handgunners Association - President

Re: industrial supply retail outlets
i have a buddy who made up some letterhead so he could buy stuff from the grainger in the strip. he just made up some company name and used his home address and printed out some "letterhead". they let him set up an account (not with credit, of course) so he could buy stuff there with just the letterhead.
"tony's remodelling service" or something would prolly work.
or just set up an account for the FIRE institute even. (again, it doesn't need to be an actual "account" with any line of credit or anything.)

Unless you want to make some, Lowes has a pretty good deal on this 42X24 bench with drawers for $169 1200 load limit.
or this one without drawers. 300 Pound load limit for $99
Might also look at Harbor Freight, there is one of those near Century lll mall.

This is $159 there, they also have lockable wheels you can get there is the store if you want to make the benches mobile.Skeet is a sport where you are better to hit half of each bird then completely blast one and miss the other completely.
