Default Flying into BWI with a firearm

I'm helping some family move down south so will be driving to North Carolina, I would like to take my firearm with me but what is the legality of flying into BWI airport with a firearm. If anyone could provide some insight that would be great.

Don't think you will have a problem?
Just let TSA know and it should be okay?

i'd be very hesitant to fly into MD with a firearm, best you check MD firearms laws before putting your freedom and firearms rights in jeapordy. MD is NOT gun friendly, maybe not as bad a NY or commiefornia but bad just the same.

Any reason you can not fly in/out of Harrisburg?

If you decide to do it, call the airline that you're flying with. They'll tell you what is required. Cases, declarations, etc...

Don't call the airline IMO, go on their website. If you call somebody you may just get some idiot. Then go on the TSA website. Print out both pages to bring with you (I've never needed them).

I've flown with a firearm before I'm just asking if anyone has any direct experience with flying into Baltimore knowing how the Maryland is with its gun laws. Harrisburg would be an option, however ticket prices are $200 more then what I paid and the tickets have already been purchased. Worse case Scenario I just send my gun home with my brother. Who is driving back up to PA and yes he has a lctf.

That's not the problem. The problem begins when you claim your luggage on arrival. Now you have a firearm that is not following the federal transport rules through MD. I wouldn't do it.

I believe that has only been defined that way by the 3rd Circuit which does not cover MD, just PA, DE, NY?, and Virgin Islands. And they even said it didn't make sense when they interpreted it that way.

But I think anything other than driving through one of these Communist states entails some peril. Especially when you have to tell everybody there you have a gun. That takes away the 99.9% chance that you'll never have to worry about it in the first place. I won't do it myself but sometimes I think the only choice for some people is bring a gun or not.
