    Default AR buttstock question...

Most all AR buttstock I see says carbine on it.
Is that mean its for carbine(16" barrel) or can it be used with longer barrel(20~24)?

Because rifle have longer extension tube doesn't it?
Another words, I want to build target shooter(20" or 24" barrel. not made up my mind yet), but I do not want to use traditional A2 But stock...

It's more the buffer bits included with the stocks.

You shouldn't have any problems putting a rifle length upper on a lower with a carbine length buffer assembly & stock or vice versa - it's when you switch out from a carbine length buttstock to full length or full length to carbine that you'd have to switch buffer parts around to match... which would mean you can run your 20-24" upper with a collapsable stock or whatever stock you'd like.

Correct. From what I've seen, you can swap just about any upper config onto any lower. Butt (pun intended) if you change stocks on the lower you have to use the proper buffer tube parts to match the stock.
