Bringing the PAFOA logo to life
So Petra and I got the idea that since we have models of both rifles featured on the PAFOA logo we should try a photo shoot. We shot the photos with grass as the backdrop so to leave a plain background for photoshopper (Hey EmptyMag - hint, hint ) to make a 'live' version of the PAFOA logo. I'm posting the smaller images and providing links to higher resolution versions. I will also note that I am NOT a photographer by any stretch of the imagination.
The stylish models: Bushmaster XM15-E2S 5.56x45 and Lyman Great Plains Flintlock .50 caliber

Here's a tip, do NOT use grass as the background. Use a solid color, like a bed sheet or a table cloth.
It will be harder to key out the grass, and it will also "paint" the edges of your rifles green, because of the way that light bounces.
Other than that good luck! This is a great idea.==============
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”
~Samuel Adams

Hey, I have the same Bushy...only mine has A1 sights.
plain background would be easier to photochop...the grass may leave jagged edges on the rifles...

Re: Bringing the PAFOA logo to life
I had thought of that, although last night we discovered that all of our sheets are either a dark color or patterned. After reading your suggestion this morning I remembered that I do have white and silver tarps ... so I'll re-shoot the photos over the weekend using one of the tarps as a backdrop.

LD is spot-on. The "key" he's referring to is called chroma-key, which is programming your imaging software to ignore a certain color. Most have a percentage range, since it's tough to get chroma-key one consistent color (shadows, lighting, etc). The smaller the percentage, the better the quality crop you'll get.
Or consider a painted surface. Chroma key is typically solid, flat & non-metallic green or blue.
