Re: blow your hand off?
Nope, have not.
I would add that some old blanks used black powder, which is a explosive not a propellant like smokeless powder.

Re: blow your hand off?
My father is legally blind in one eye, deaf in one ear, has a scar on his leg, and is missing several fingers and both thumbs because of a cartridge going off in his hand. He was holding a 'blank' rifle cartridge that the National Guard had fired on July 4th when he was 6 years old. My grandmother got all of them away from him but for one. He kept the one she didn't find and tried to make it look like the Lone Ranger Silver Bullet. He was jamming clay into the casing with a metal toy car axle when he struck something inside the casing and it blew up in his hand.
He is left handed since he only lost half a thumb on his left, but has no thumb, middle or ring finger on his right hand. His pointer and pinky fingers will always be bent into a "U" because the tendons were so horribly messed up that the doctors could only stretch them to the tips of his fingers to make them still work. Don't go near that right hand though, its strong as a SOB and it hurts when you are doing something you ain't supposed to be!
They're just like small children, Its an EGO thing, " well if I can't have it this way, then I want it this way"..WAAAAAH - BrownBear (speaking of liberals)

Re: blow your hand off?
I can't see any reason it would go off from handling that, unless you were banging on the primer. Think about how much bouncing, vibration and jostling happens when the ammo is being shipped. They don't go off in transit, is shouldn't go off in your hand.

Re: blow your hand off?
I don't generally play with my ammo, but I did have some in the car when it was pretty damn hot out once and they never went off.
now if I had like 30,000 rounds I might bathe in it.
