Re: Identify this revolver??
The prancing pony makes it a Colt.
It's a modern double action, judging by the vent rib barrel probably one of their snake models (Diamondback or Python). Guessing by the trigger guard it's a Python.
Maybe one of the Colt experts can put a finer point on your question.Gloria: "65 percent of the people murdered in the last 10 years were killed by hand guns"
Archie Bunker: "would it make you feel better, little girl, if they was pushed outta windows?"

Re: Identify this revolver??
That is the infamous Colt Python .357 Magnum ( in Royal Blue ) with what appears to be a 4" barrel. It introduced the vent rib and full underlug barrel now so common.
Introduced in 1955, it is considered the Cadillac of revolvers. Now out of production, prices have doubled over the last couple years. Going by the factory hard rubber grips, it's probably a mid to late 80's model.

Re: Identify this revolver??
I bought a 4in blue Python new in 1974 or 5 then it was $375.00. Kept it for 30 yrs. it was by far the nicest firearm I will ever own. If you ever get a chance to shoot one the next day you will start saving up for your own.
