people always tell me....
be careful how much ammo you buy, you'll be put on a watch list. Any truth to this? Sounds like bullshit to me.

Re: people always tell me....
Just think about it.... How the hell would anyone of importance know you bought a lot OC ammo? They stopped recording transfers(federal paperwork) of ammo 26 years ago or so.

Re: people always tell me....
true, they know who buys the guns, so who the hell cares about the ammo? Plus a terrorist isn't going to buy ammo in the US, he's going to bring it with him when he comes over here, if he makes it here anyways.

Re: people always tell me....
They really don't know who buys guns either on the federal level. The 4473 forms stay with the dealer and NICS inquiries are purged after so many hours. The Feds only get the 4473 forms if a dealer goes out of business, and then the dealer only has to keep the last 20 years of forms.
Some states are a different matter. PA keeps track of "firearms", but not long guns.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515, SteveWag

If that's true, i'm seriously on the list. I just bought 1700 round of rifle ammo and 7k bullet heads for my pistols.

The Walmart lady was quite concerned when I bought 1200 shotgun shells.
She asked what it was for and I told her Zombies..The problem with shooting Chinese bullets is 15 minutes later you wanna shoot again.

Re: people always tell me....
This might be a leftover from the 80s, in the early 80s & back gun shops were required to keep records of ammunition sales similar to firearms. The buyer didn't fill out a 4473, but the seller was required to log ammo type and to whom bought it.
This was dropped around '85 or so.
Also note if there was a "list" for quantity sold, resellers and dealers would routinely trip the alarm. So would police departments, gun clubs, etc.Gloria: "65 percent of the people murdered in the last 10 years were killed by hand guns"
Archie Bunker: "would it make you feel better, little girl, if they was pushed outta windows?"
