    Default carry holster?

I have a glock 19 and I'm looking for a decent carry holster, belt or paddle, that isn't real expensive. I don't carry all the time. Only when I feel I might be in a bad area. So I don't want to drop a lot of cash.

I found a blackhawk cqc for about $30 after shipping. That's what I'm leaning towards right now.

    Any info would help.

Basically, let me know what you carry and why. Thanks.

You didn't specify, but I assume you want OWB, since you mentioned a SERPA.
Oh, and $30 SHIPPED is a very good price for that SERPA.

    Happy reading!

For open carry, you can't beat the Blackhawk SERPA holsters. I own one and use it nearly every day.

The locking mechanism is very intuitive for the gun owner during draw, but is a pain in the butt for someone else who is trying to draw the gun.

Oh, and for comfort, use the belt loop option on the Blackhawk. I found that the paddle tended to cut into my side.

Funny, I've never even tried the belt loop attachment... I find the paddle to be quite comfortable.

As always. What works for one person, may not work for the next.

No recommendations for outside carry. But if you looking for an inside the waist and tuck-able holster. I would recommend the High Noon Split Decision. I have been using it for a while now and I am very happy with it. For the price it is one heck of a holster.

I suggest a Don Hume JIT, can be had for under $30.00 (List price is $23.80)

For about 45.00$ you can get a Galco cop series. Actually mine was a little less. For the little difference in price I would go with leather. BTW this holster has a retention strap.

De Santis makes a similar product.

Thank you all. This is all good info. I would like to say, I want something that keeps the gun more secure. The blackhawk was what I was looking at becuase of the trigger guard/lock. The retention strap is definitely something I would want on a leather holster. But, i didn't really want to get into $60 holster.

    Thanks guys.
