Fed Refuses to Disclose Recipients of $2 Trillion
Don't you just love the fact they have taken 2 TRILLION of OUR money and given it to 'someone' but they refuse to tell us who and what exactly they are holding as collateral?
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...Zlc&refer=home
Why the hell isn't every man woman and child screaming at the top of their lungs over this? 2 TRILLION dollars and we aren't even allowed to know what we got in return and if it is even worth 10 cents on the dollar!

Re: Fed Refuses to Disclose Recipients of $2 Trillion
Just to put it in perspective... every year for the last 10+ years the Pentagon has "lost" over a trillion dollars a year and they are completely unable to advise where that money went or that they even received that money.

Supposedly (rumor has it) that the money was given out so quickly that they "forgot to keep track of it"The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Re: Fed Refuses to Disclose Recipients of $2 Trillion
Part of the problem, IMHO, is that unless they spend every freaking cent that congress authorizes in the budget they will get a lower budget the next year, unless something untoward happens that increases defense spending in general. It's stupid, instead of congratulating folks for saving money they actually punish them. Yet people wonder why there is waste in government.

people are burnt out.
Its not that they dont trust the fed gov, they trust them alright. To screw them and get away with it, all the time.
They feel hopeless and helpless.
They see this happening and remark "there they go again..."
People are burnt out.

yep
hell, I am informed and intelligent, like many of the people here.
I barely have the time to pick one fight and show up for it

we are under attack on so many fronts
I tell my friends, "just pick one battle, Real ID, 2A, whatever you have a passion for, and show up for it".

Re: Fed Refuses to Disclose Recipients of $2 Trillion
Wanna quote a source for the lost trillion per year? It wasn't in the article... I'm not sure that the entire military budget adds up to a trillion a year. At least the defense department is supposedly spending on a constitutional basis. What the fed and congress and Bush are doing is WAY over the line. Of course so are all of the entitlement programs, lets not let the constitution get in the way.

Re: Fed Refuses to Disclose Recipients of $2 Trillion
Dredly, I'm not saying there is unaccounted money but you over stated it tenfold at least. The budget for defense in 2006 was a bit over 500 billion. Impossible to lose a trillion per year as you stated. At least defense is a constitutional duty of the feds. We're being ripped off by all of these bailouts and we should be incensed. The time has come for the American people to stand up to these politicians. Public opinion has been against all that they have done and they do it anyhow...
