charter arms pistols
Any one have experience with them. i was looking for a .357 revolver with an intermediate sized barrel for hiking. they have one for around $350.
i was wondering about how good they are. my father always called them "saturday night specials" but its hard to believe a company making crappy firearms could stay in business for so long.
i'm not looking to shoot hot loads just off the shelf stuff.WHEN DEMOCRACY TURNS TO TYRANNY, THE ARMED CITIZEN STILL GETS TO VOTE

Re: charter arms pistols
I just picked up their Pitbull .40 - I had a problem out of the gates, but was fixed right away. Well made gun imo, and a lifetime warranty. I have put around 100 rounds through it so far, and really like it. I don't think you can go wrong with one. Here's mine :
And with some new grips ( I think that's where I "caused" the problem I had. The grips were a tad loose, so I put some foam in between and then I was getting light strikes. Thinking back, I think the foam was pressing against the spring and causing hammer to drop slower thus the light strikes ) :
Good luck!

I have a Bulldog in .44 special and have not had a single issue with about 200 rounds through it. Might even be the gun I shoot the most accurately with.
My understanding was that their QC has been much better in the past couple of years. Good bang for your buck in my opinion.

Story is that the........
........company is back in the original owners hands again. Not many people bitch about those early models. And now it's finally back in their hands and they're trying to bring the company back up to snuff.

Re: charter arms pistols
Last I picked one up at a shop, it was a lefty .38, opened the cylinder, and it was partially locked up, from the metal shavings in the action.
We moved on.

I'm in the market for a C.A and probably will go with the 44. They appear to be very reliable and "Bud's Gunshop" in KY has the best price on them. $320 + shipping.
Try to locate them on Gunsmoker. You can only get smarter by playing a smarter opponent
