Possible Pulled Thread? (addressing moderators)

I started a thread the other day and several minutes later it was gone. I made a thread in the news section on an article I read that this person claimed that PA had some of the strictest laws according to the Brady Bunch website.

Like I said, now its gone. I didn't delete it and no one PM'd me saying I violated sometime.


Can someone chime in?

I removed it because it did not comply with the newly announced and clearly posted rules for the News forum.

I didn't see anything that I violated. If I wasn't busy, I would have just riposted and re violated. It takes two seconds to PM someone.

I'm going to be blunt.

It's not my job to "teach" you the rules, and I don't have the time or desire to tutor adults. The rules for the forum in general, and for things like News and the Classifieds are clearly posted.

It only takes two seconds to read them.

If users don't care enough to bother reading them, why should I waste my time with them? I take care of the problem (by removing the post or issuing an infraction) and move on. On the few occasions when I have ignored my better judgment and sent a PM, it turns into a debate, and I'm done with that.

I was just as confused when I saw a post that didn't conform to the rules as you were when you noticed it was gone. This isn't rocket science.

Whether that is a link to a website, or lacking a website a specific way to find the article (Such as which local paper on which day.)

You used a thread title that highlighted a small blurb that YOU thought was important, rather than the topic of the article as a whole.

Make the thread titles as descriptive as the headline

Do not submit threads with titles like "You have to see this!", etc. People scanning the forum don't care about your opinion, they care about the news.

And so the debate continues....just as it would have had a sent a PM. You did NOT provide a link or a specific way to find the article per the posted guidelines.

If you're too tired and burnt out to make sure your posts are in compliance with the rules here, maybe you shouldn't post here.

ETA - and just for the record, you have not been singled out. Yours is one of several to receive the same treatment.
