Default Single Barreled Fixed Modified Choke

I have a single-barreled 12 gauge with a fixed modified choke, is there anyway to get an adjustable choke put in there, for a somewhat reasonable price? The company, H&R makes interchangeable barrels for it with an adjustable choke, but it would be almost $120 to get that done. I know I could just buy a new gun, but I really like this one, I just wish it could be more adaptable to my wants.

Your best bet is to buy that barrel, anything else will cost you a lot more to do right. This is not something I would trust any old gunsmith with, threading a shotgun barrel for chokes is a very precise process.

Off the top of my head I know that Briley Manufacturing does it, I know there is another company as well but I can't recall their name.

Your lucky if it is only $120. I was looking for a barrel for my Browning A-5, over $400.
New barrel at that price is your best bet. If you like the gun, spend the money.
I shoot trap and 5 stand with a modified choke. Skeet would be another story.

A fixed Mod choke is not that bad of a choice for many applications. What are your wants?

I think the other one you are thinking of is Kolar. Prices are about the same.

The older I get, the better I used to be.

I was looking to do some turkey with it. And I'm not sure so I'll ask, can I shoot a slug out of a modified choke?
