Default Now I get it, it was the gun's fault all along

So as many know the Glock is now Tootie's carry piece and I am carrying a full sized Kimber 1911.

You may also remember how I said no one ever seemed to notice I as OC'ing .. not that it was frustrating or anything, I just found it odd when so many others were constantly being 'seen'

Well now I think I get it, it was the gun (the Glock) .... tiny little square black thing in a black holster ... must have looked like a cell phone or something.

But today things changed, first this afternoon I got several 'sideways' looks at the local grocery store but tonight it really came out. I stopped into the local convenience store to get cigarettes.

The girl behind the counter has seen me carrying literally hundreds of times and never a word was said. As I walked up (after a quick chat with someone I hadn't seen in a while) she said "Look at you walking around with the big gun on your hip", to which I replied (in a deep drawn out voice) "yesss"

She looks at me and in a giggly, almost teenybopper voice and says "NICE"

So there you have it ... mystery solved, it was the gun's fault all along.

So glocks are boring, that's why no one noticed before?

Same thing here. No one noticed my Glock hardly... but my 1911 with the wood grips, it's like moths to a porch light.

    I don't get it.

It's not that nobody notices the glock, it's that nobody NOTICES the glock - unlike a nice 1911 or wheelgun. Especially chicks. Glocks are mopeds and 1911s are Harleys.

Glocks are tough and reliable..and easily replaced if necessary...but they sure aren't the prettiest girl at the prom.
Well, pushed 60 too hard so now I am the big SIX-OH. Now I can be a real pain in the ass! And, who says growin' old isn't fun!!

It not that she didn't notice it before, it's that she noticed it is bigger now.

I have not noticed much more attention with my 1911 vs my Glock. Then again my 1911 is not a Kimber...
