    Default Northampton County Sheriff transfer

I bought a sig about a year ago for my wife to shoot and if she liked it I would transfer it to her. She went to the courthouse to have it transfered and she was told that they do not do that, that she would have to have it done by a FFL dealer. Now she either goes on shooting it or she gets a new one. I'm hoping for the latter. Can't have too many guns.

It's not at all necessary for a spouse to "transfer" at an FFL. As there is no registration of guns in PA, the only reason for an FFL to get involved is to follow the law and perform a PICS check. As this is not required between spouses in this state, it's just a waste of money.

Nothing illegal about "gifting" a handgun to your spouse in PA. There is no legal registration, so what is there to transfer?

    Perhaps you missed this bit.

My stag is coming soon. It's no pistol but I think it will fill the void.

I know there is no registration, just thought that when gifted it was to be transfered into the persons name. Thank y'all for the reminder.
