Man robbed in York while smoking cigarette

A Dover man who stepped outside of a downtown York restaurant to smoke a cigarette was robbed at gunpoint Sunday night.
Jacob Thomas Hollerbush told police he went behind a restaurant to smoke in the 200 block of South George Street just after 9 p.m. when a man pointed a gun at him and took his money and cell phone, according to York City Police.

Hollerbush was not injured, police said.

The investigation is continuing.

Spot on. There are three restaurants in that block: McDonald's; Crown Fried Chicken; and Cobblestones. That last one apparently had some disorderly conduct recently. Probably why the cops weren't there to rescue this guy from his mugger: they were too busy processing those super-dangerous criminal-type armed women.

What I would like to know is why the police weren't there to prevent this robbery? After all, it seems like citizens are not really supposed to be carrying guns, so it must be the cops who are going to prevent this kind of thing from happening, right?
