    Hey...that's my avatar. Toshiro Mifune is one of my favorite actors and Kurosawa is my favorite director.

    The point is that Sergio Leone was remaking Kurosawa films in the context of Westerns, thus the Mifune pic as Yojimbo.

    Those are classically great movies! I just re-watched the clint eastwood trilogy (fistfull of dollars, a few dollars more and the good bad and the ugly) a year ago while feeding the little baby son at odd times.

    Some of the best movies made, imho.

    The only film Leone made that was a copy of a Kurosawa film was Fist Full of Dollars; which was based off of Yojimbo. The Good, Bad, and the Ugly and A Few Dollars More were not directly based off of any Kurosawa films; nor was Hang 'em High.

    All are great flicks, no matter who made them.

    Learn something every day. I knew it to be certain with Yojimbo, and presume it so with the rest.

    Will you tell me next that Twin Peaks was not an homage to High Plains Drifter ?
