Rules For Glock Owners.
I heard a wise woman once say: "It's in a man's blood to tinker with things".
I think it's in most of our blood to tinker with things in an attempt to make them better.
Glocks are one of those things in life that come "perfect" from the factory.....So if you have a Glock follow these simple rules....AND DON'T MESS WITH YOUR GLOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
1) Get a Glock
2) Get a set of quality sights for it (ie. Heine Straight 8's, XS Big Dot, Trijicon, etc).
3) Don't mess with anything else on the pistol.
4) Get PLENTY of ammo.
5) Shoot the shit out of your Glock.
6) Change the mag springs as needed and change the recoil spring with a FACTORY recoil spring assembly ($3 from Glock) every 5,000 rounds. Also change out the trigger return spring when you change out the recoil spring assembly.
7) DO NOT get a compensated Glock (or any handgun for that matter). If you use this gun for self defense and need to fire from the retention position, it diverts gases into your face and eyes. Compensated = night blindness and possible burns. not good for a defensive pistol.
That is everything you need to know about Glocks.

Re: Rules For Glock Owners.
Given that this is a good list of advice for PEOPLE THAT OWN GLOCKS, i expect to see people that own other things tell you why glocks suck and their choice is better.
To those who are not yet one with the glock, this thread is not for you

Re: Rules For Glock Owners.
that's another great point that's also overlooked because the instances of it hapening were pretty rare. Cut slots or drill holes into something, it's just not as strong as it was before.

1) Get a Glock.
2) Realize you could have done better.
3) Trade in your barely used Glock.
4) Get ripped off on the buy back price.
5) Buy an XD
6) Shoot happily ever after.
(Just kidding)
not really.==============
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”
~Samuel Adams
"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it."

Re: Rules For Glock Owners.
1) Buy an XD
2) Realize the Xd has too many things on it that could cause it to go wrong, and that you didn't like the glock because you BARELY USED it.
3) Actually go get in the mud and train with your XD, only to have it rust.
4) Realize you should of stuck with the Glock.
I've seen a guy take an XD out of the box, and rack it once and the rear sight fell off. I've seen them rust shut, I've seen fingerprints rust on them overnight. No thanks.
and I seriously doubt any XD would make it through the Torture Test that BigBore did to his Glock. That's why you donlt see anyelse doing that test to their handguns.

Re: Rules For Glock Owners.
You're going apples to oranges on that one and you know it. Give the XD a few more years and then do a side-by-side. My personal carry is a G19 but I am not, and will never be, a Glock snob. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, that has used handguns for more than a few months has a preferred handgun. Like I said in the Ultimate Fighting Pistol thread, the perfect pistol for one person is not necessarily the perfect pistol for another. Unless you carry due to a work requirement, it should always be one that you are comfortable with, one that you can fire well and lastly one that you actually will carry.
