Les Baer
I am debating on biting the bullet and buying a Baer. Does anyone have one? I have heard some great things, but also some horror stories. Tell me what you know before I drop a ridiculous amount of money (to me) on this pistol.

Re: Les Baer
I have one of his Bullseye pistols. I would buy another Baer without a question. It's a fine pistol, what more can I say.

Re: Les Baer
I am thinking about the Monolith for the added forward weight. I am going to use it in NRA Conventional Bullseye.

Re: Les Baer
It would be perfect for that. It might not cycle powder puff loads at first, though.
Tight is an understatement, but nothing shoots smaller groups.

Re: Les Baer
I am shooting reloads right now with about 3.2 grains of Bullseye through an old Colt. I suppose that would fall into the "powder puff class, eh". Believe it or not, they cycle, although they only eject about an inch, from a Sig P220.

Re: Les Baer
The Baers I shot needed a power factor of about 135 to run.
PF=bullet weight * velocity (fps)/1000.

Re: Les Baer
I may need to chrono some this week and see what I am getting out of them. I think I am using 240 grain cast lead bullets. So, to get the power factor, they would need to be in the ballpark of 550ish fps. I bet I am way over that.

thanks by the way!Last edited by ar15jules; January 26th, 2009 at 10:35 PM.
