Colonial Regional Police Experience with Florida Permit
I was involved in an accident this evening. I was nice and notified the officer that I was armed by handing him by Florida (non-resident) permit with my DL, insurance, and registration. He asked where my handgun was and I told him that it was on my right side. He asked that I take it off and secure it in the glove box of my vehicle. I did so. As the tow truck was getting ready to take my car away I reminded him of the handgun. He went and got it and put in his car.
While he was filling out his reports he asked for the permit again and scrutinized it. He wrote everything down on the front and back...
Later after he finished his reports he walked my family and I across the street to where our friends were (so we didn't get hit by traffic). I reminded him about my gun. He said "oh yeah I forgot. I would have taken it home with me". He went back across the street and then brought the gun back to me. He handed it to me and said "I hope your Florida permit is valid". I said "it is". He said "I am going to check and if it isn't you will be getting a call from me". I said "I would not be carrying a concealed weapon illegally". He then walked off.
Any other experiences with these officers from Colonial Regional? I'm new to PA and this guy was lacking people skills during the entire process from beginning to end. I explained to him I applied for my PA permit and I am waiting for it. He didn't respond and really did not seem to care...

I've taken down your badge number, I hope it's valid.

Re: Colonial Regional Police Experience with Florida Permit
They've watched me OC from the comfort of their cars or while on foot several times over the past few years and never given me a hard time nor said a word to me. They've even stopped to let me through the crosswalk in the Walmart parking lot more than once, and it is certain they saw my sidearm.

what the hell was that cop thinking, he should have thrown your ass to the ground and stuffed his barrel into your temple while yelling at you that a Florida permit is not valid in PA...oh wait, that only happens in philly, game on.
