Blackhawk grips
When I went to the Hogue website to order some grips for a Ruger New Model Blackhawk in a .30 caliber I cant figure out which one I can buy for it that it will work. Because all of the New Model Blackhawks show on their website to be a square trigger guard and mine is a round. Any suggestions? Will the old blackhawk ones work? Guess I cant just think outside the box.
Forgot to mention it's the rubber monogrip is what im wanting to order.Last edited by S&W 10mm; March 16th, 2009 at 04:48 PM. Reason: forgot something

Re: Blackhawk grips
As far as I know New Model blackhawk, Single Six and Vaquero all take the same grips. Old model wont work.

Re: Blackhawk grips
A little later i'll have to send you the link so I can show you exactly what I mean. I dont think he square one will work like it says it will. I dont know how these rubber grips are mounted and if the square trigger guard versus the circular one will effect it.

Re: Blackhawk grips
The square trigger guard is on the Super Blackhawk. Here is a link to Hogue's website showing the grip for the Blackhawk:

Re: Blackhawk grips
Ah, sorry for the confusion. Your first post said New Model BlackHawk, not New Model Super BlackHawk and I did not remember that the 30 Carbine was a Super. Your best bet is to pull the grips off and read the frame type. You might also want to visit the Ruger Forums. Ruger grip frames can be confusing and these folks know then well. http://www.rugerforum.com/phpBB/

Re: Blackhawk grips
Dude, I am so sorry your right. I do not understand what made me write that in my last post that mine is a Super Blackhawk. I am so sorry for the confusion. I just brought the gun out so I can figure out all the misleading information that I may have posted. So here it goes, this is a New Model Blackhawk, not Super Blackhawk as I misleadingly posted previously.
Thank you for your help and I think I figured it out. I think I was seeing New Model Super Blackhawk and then just Blackhawk, Vaquero, and Single Six and thinking that mine didnt belong to either since this is a New Model. My mistake, again thank you for your help and straightening me out.Reputation is what I strive for.

Re: Blackhawk grips
No Problem at all, Ruger single action grips frames are really confusing considering all the variations that are out there!
