Discrimination against gun owners?
I am evaluating how I feel about people who are vehemently anti-gun/anti-2nd Amendment. They use pretty offensive language at times, make overt threats, deny us entry/business, make bogus calls to the police, and talk trash about us to their friends, quite possibly defaming us individually and collectively.
why is it we who are made to suffer the slings and arrows of an un-enlightened mob who mistreat and discriminate against us for practicing our Constitutionally guaranteed Rights?
To me, personally, we are either all the same under the law, or we aren't. Why is it o.k. to boot someone from your store because they are carrying a firearm, but not if they are a racial minority or, say.. homosexual?
While I think that having to convolute the law to make us "special" is abhorrent, and rational Americans should realize that our Founding Fathers were crystal clear in their intentions, part of me wonders the possible results of turning the tables on the Anti's by classifying them as discriminatory bigots.
thoughts? The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but believe me, it's on the damned list.

Re: Discrimination against gun owners?
Said people have an irrational fear of inanimate objects. They think that somehow firearms will jump up and shoot them by themselves. Either that, or they are projecting their own fear that THEY would be reckless and shoot someone randomly if THEY were carrying a firearm.
Any mission, any conditions, any foe at any range.
Twice the mayhem, triple the force.
Ten times the action, total hardcore.

Re: Discrimination against gun owners?
I don't normally post in these types of threads since the discussions sometimes get rather heated, but you have echoed exactly what I have been thinking for quite some time.
Businesses and groups that do that sort of thing are acting against a specific class of people. To my mind, that rises to the level of violating civil rights and discrimination. In the eyes of the law, however, we are not a "protected" class, such as minorities, gay/lesbian, elderly, etc.
As long as we do not stoop to their level, we prove ourselves better than they are every time a fellow gun owner goes to court and wins against them.

Re: Discrimination against gun owners?
But I think the question the OP was asking was how to go about getting recognition as a protected class . It does hold some very intriguing possibilities , but also some pretty deep traps as well . What might be marginally better is to continue to welcome into the fold the handicapped , minorities , gay , lesbian or disabled. The situation for a law maker or business owner becomes significantly more tricky to deal with when one of the " protected classes" is discriminated against for exercising their 2A rights .

yeah..why don't they hate cops with guns? they're the people you'd have to worry about more with guns since most of them NEVER shoot their gun except to qualify every year.
personally, I'd trust a target shooter more than a cop if a percise shot was needed or whatever to save my life.Peace, Prosperity, and Liberty

Re: Discrimination against gun owners?
Trust the person that needs precision shooting skills to keep meat on the table. Many of the great Aces of WW2 were good at deflection shooting and lead pursuit just from hunting squirrels etc.
And that is for aircraft, quite a step above 'simple' riflery. If we had pick-up teams for a war, other than proven combat vets, that's who is next on my list. Now this is not to disparage some good urban scrappers needed in the mix to round out some Hand to Hand (HtH) skills! (and urban CQB)It is you. You have all the weapons that you need. Now fight. --Sucker Punch

If some schlub ( male) were to tell me to leave a store due to OC or they "made" me for CC, I might very well start into the ol " cuz I am a woman, isn't it?". My response to a woman is that she is a traitor to womaness LOL. "Are you a slave to men?" Turn the libtard tactics right back on them. He he he he he...
I'd like to hear what Michele would say! She has more girl balls than I do.LOL, I am a woman...

Re: Discrimination against gun owners?
This is quite true. If your job is to shoot at an enemy, having preresiquite skills is excellent. From what I gather, alot of the young men ( and some of the women too) who enter the military have some hunting and/or shooting background, but when you look at the police force, many of the cadets have never even touched a gun till they got to the academy. Am I right on this? I know this is so with the cadets in that show on the LAPD academy, one of them was so bad on the range he couldn't cut it even after multiple instructions and tries. They had to boot him for failing to pass the range exam over and over. Other than him being a nervous shaking hopolophobe, I can't see how someone with good eyesight ( required for being a cop, right?) who is not physically handicapped could be such a poor shooter. If guns scare you THAT much, why bother even trying to be a cop? They were using the 9mm Berettas, which I know first hand don't kick that much and are very accurate.
