Default Get suppressor here or wait half a year? Oh and CCL?

I'm in the military and was recently stationed here( actually about 15min. away in MD). I want to get a suppressor for my Walther P22... but should I do it here, or wait till I get to my next duty station? I'm not even sure where it will be yet, though I think it's going to be Ft. Benning, GA. So do I start the paperwork here... start it there, if I even end up there? Sorry to ask so many questions but time is somewhat of the essence as I understand the paperwork itself takes a long time to do even after it's started! Oh, and if I want to get a CCL, should I also wait? I'm not entirely sure where I'd be going next so I'd rather get things done ASAP, hopefully being in the military would speed that up, but with my luck it'd slow it down( murphy's law runs my family). So what do you guys and girls think? Btw... very nice site you have here, lots of info and I hope I have time to read alot of it before I leave!

Well if you live in MD you would have to do the paperwork though a MD dealer as far as I understand it.

    And thanks for your Serves.

I will be down at FT Benning this September for Basic and AIT

Yeah gonna do the suppressor paperwork here in MD, got it started already hopefully it won't take too long... I mean, gov't and FBI already DID a background check that came up clean, how much more do they need lol? And unless I get my next duty station changed, I may be seeing you soon private! I go to Ft. Benning in November.... really DON'T want to go, but unless I can find someone to switch with me, I may be stuck!

Cool. But I am no private I came in as an E4 Specialists thanks to that fancy peace of paper hanging on my wall. MD might be hard to get a Law enforcement approval which means you would have to go the trust, corp or LLC rout.

That's a tough call .. what happens if your stationed in a state that forbids suppressors? I don't know if I would drop the coin on one with the knowledge that I might have to live somewhere that doesn't allow them. I don't know the laws in GA but I think they do allow NFA items. But you did say you weren't sure.

I've gotten the ball rolling now. Bought the suppressor, take about 7-10 days to get the info transfered to the local shop that will actually DO the transfer, then I guess the fingerprinting/background check stuff, $200 tax stamp, and it's all mine. And yes GA allows suppressors, full autos, it's the south! If you're in the military you don't even need a license for concealed carry!
