Good local Butcher?
Looking for a good butcher in the area around Pottstown. I'd like to get some fresh meat and maybe some not so usual items as well.
Also... call me optimistic but This is the first year I'll be hunting and I'm wonder where is a good place to have deer and other game properly processed in the area?
Thanks
Tj

Re: Good local Butcher?
Best bet is to learn to do it yourself. That way you know you are going to get your own meat. Alot of places in the Boyertown area will make stuff for you if you bring in deboned meat. Brooke's meats in Bechtelsville does a good job. Moyer's meats in Gablesville-just west of Boyertown makes decent sausage and other things also. It just gets expensive having some of that stuff done. I grind my own deer meat and make my own sausage and jerky. I do my own butchering, my father-in-law taught me, so I can cut it up any way I want. Alot of butcher shops stopped doing the processing part due to FDA regs.
