Default FN outbid Colt and Remington to produce new M4's for Military

    http://kitup.military.com/2013/02/ar...ntract-fn.html

    Also, https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportun...=core&_cview=0

Interesting. I wonder if some of the Colt Bandwagoneers will fall off?

Every current Military M4 I have seen in the past couple of years was made by FN.
Even many H&K gas psiton M4's are being issued to the USMC right now.

I thought they already did away with Colt long ago.

From what I read in that article it looks like they are going back to full auto over the three round burst setting.

    Colt, meh.

Colt hasn't been Sam'l Colt's company for decades. I'm not even sure that there is a direct connection between that comapany and the current one.

In 1955 Colt was acquired by Penn-Texas. In 1958, Penn-Texas merged with Fairbanks-Morse and the new company was called Whitney Morse. In 1964, the Whitney Morse was renamed Colt Industries. In 1988 Colt Industries shed Colt Firearms Division, the new owner was C.F. Holdings, and later the company became Colt's Manufacturing, Inc. and finally Colt's Manufacturing LLC and in 2002 Colt Defence LLC was split off as a separate company.

My problem with Colt is that for nearly 50 years they have counted on the defense side to keep them afloat and never worried about the consumers. It's all just a rehash of the 1911 and the AR-15.

I feel sorry for the workers but that's the free market.

Yup, burst has some issues and forces generally use the semi function anyway.

Yeah.. like jams. What am I talking about. Those damn rifles jammed all the time no matter the setting.

Mine did have something wrong with its bolt carrier group though.
