Okay to sell to this individual>?
I have a coworker that is interested in buying a shotgun I have. I was considering going through the private transfer/Bill of Sale route.
I just found out he was charged with "underage drinking" few months back. Coworker is 20 years old.
Does this make the person prohibted from purchasing my shotgun? He purchased a rifle less than a year ago through Dick's Sporting Goods. His rifle has not be confiscated. So am I wrong in thinking that we are 100% good to go to proceed with the transaction?
My coworker mentioned that the charges would be/are expunged.

Re: Okay to sell to this individual>?
My advice would be to CYA and do the transfer through an FFL.

if it was not an m1 or higher you are fine. up at the top of your screen is a link to the referance library, look through that for prohibiting offences.

Re: Okay to sell to this individual>?
§ 6308. Purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of liquor or malt or brewed beverages.
(a) Offense defined.--A person commits a summary offense if he, being less than 21 years of age, attempts to purchase, purchases, consumes, possesses or knowingly and intentionally transports any liquor or malt or brewed beverages, as defined in section 6310.6 (relating to definitions). For the purposes of this section, it shall not be a defense that the liquor or malt or brewed beverage was consumed in a jurisdiction other than the jurisdiction where the citation for underage drinking was issued.
If it's just a summary underage, I don't see how it could prohibit him from owning firearms.
If in doubt, it won't hurt to go through an FFL. (have him pay the fee)
IANAL

If his case is not yet fully disposed of, or if he is on probation as part of his sentence, he may be temporarily prohibited from acquiring/possessing firearms.

Re: Okay to sell to this individual>?
If it's a summary offense, it probably won't show up in the Court of Common Pleas.

Search the Magisterial District courts instead
Or better yet, you could pay the PSP for his criminal history:
