Conventional Pistol 2nd Challenge
All firing is done standing offhand no support, one hand only. 3 catagories, .22, Centerfire (any caliber .32 or larger) and .45. Any pistol or revolver of appropriate caliber, any sights. Score after 10 rounds are fired.
Shots touching a scoring ring receive the higher value. Xs score 10 points, but X count shall be used to break ties. Post a picture of targets with score and aggregate score. Report points and number of Xs as 285-28X. Match opens 1 September 2010 and closes 30 September 2010.
As match director and judge, I shall not compete. Winner will be awarded 404+ rep points (plus whatever others might give in recognition of effort).

22 for September. Brick, there are 2 very close that appear to both be 10s. I photographed the plugs for your call. Counting them as 10s, I score it 291-11.

Centerfire for September, I score it as 274-5. I love shooting this pistol but I really jerk the trigger in rapid with iron sights.

45 score for September, 283-7. That is a good score for me and I am happy with a total for the 3-gun at 848-23.

Very good shooting! You set the bar very high for others.
I don't recognize your .22, what is it?
I'm told the S&W Model 52 has an very unforgiving trigger. I've never had the oppurtunity to shoot one myself. I always used my .45 for centerfire except when I was just starting and used a K-38 Masterpiece.
The stocks on your .22 & .45 look interesting also. I can't make up my mind if they might be from Randall Fung or Arnie Vitarbo.

Re: Conventional Pistol 2nd Challenge
The 22 is a 208 Hammerli with a Rink grip.
This centerfire S&W is a 952 (9mm). They were modeled after the 52 and come out of the performance center. I also have a 52. They are accurate and, I agree with you, they are unforgiving. IMHO that is due to a light front and a slow round, 38 Special WC. The 952 I think is more forgiving because of a little more front end mass and the 9mm is faster getting it out of the barrel quicker.
The 45 grip is actually a homemade grip that I bought at a gun show for around $20 and they fit me really well. Best $20 I have ever spent!
Thanks again for doing this fun match.

Great equipment! I haven't seen a 208 in 20 or more years.

Re: Conventional Pistol 2nd Challenge
C'mon guys it's half past September and I've only got one entrant.
Saleen did a fine job on his timed and rapid fire, but there's room in slow fire.
Give it a try!
