my beretta cx4 .40 cal problem

today at the range i pulled the trigger once and it shot twice?!@ anyone have any reasons this would happen? also the slide wasnt locking when the mags were empty a bit of figiting at the range with the mechanics solved that but today i had this problem which scared me a tiny bit also not only has the slide not locked sometimes but sometimes when lockin in a mag the slide will slam forward without me dropping the slide release any help will be appreciated greatly

You've got some serious problems there. I would get on the horn with the place you bought it and Beretta as quick as you can. This, IMO is not a fix it at home problem. The double means that something internal is not doing its job and putting a mag in place should never cause the slide to go into battery.
