security guard open carry in philly
Yesterday I was driving through Northeast Philly on the detour. I saw this guy jaywalking and open carrying a pistol on his hip. He wore a t-shirt that read 'Security.' He was crossing Aramingo Ave NOT on the crosswalk. He jumped in front of the traffic. This woman slammed on her breaks yielding to him, compelling the drivers behind her to stop. I was wondering if there is an exception for security workers to open carry in PA?
In the summer when I went out for a walk after dinner, I saw this girl in my neighborhood open carrying from her car to her home. She wears a brown collar tee, seems like coming home from work. When I see her on weekends, she does not carry or at least I don't see her pistol. Her brown t indicates she's in security somewhere. I was just wondering if security guards can legally open carry in the city and counties?
This may be a not so good question to ask, but trying to learn.

Re: security guard open carry in philly
When one wears a T Shirt that says *Security* on it, in a city of the first class, namely Philadelphia, they are exempt from all laws. They can open carry, closed carry, Jay Walk, J Walk, Jay Zee Walk, whatever. Stop traffic, start traffic, direct traffic, etc.
Walk dogs, breed dogs, just don*t go Michael Vick and fight dogs, kick dogs or shoot dogs. That is reserved for three letter agencies, the police and food delivery people. Most importantly, remember Constitution Mother F*cker.
PS The comment was actually the M Fing Constitution. As stated many years ago when I first joined
Sorry free no summary.

Re: security guard open carry in philly
IF, they were real security and IF they were on duty they may have an PA ACT 235 card which allows open carry while on duty. Or, as others have said an LTCF would be sufficient to open carry in the city of Philadelphia.

The best thing iv found that confuses people in Philly is when you walk around with a Fire Dept shirt on and open carry. They think things have gotten so bad that now the fire department carries 🤣😂🤣
