    Default AK Magazines

Where do you guys like to shop for inexpensive yet reliable magazines for your AK-47?

    Any particular brand?

    TIA

When I had an AK I've gotten good deals on them at various shows and even flea markets.

If you buy Tapco - I will personally appear on your porch and dick-punch you

Literally - anything metal and surplus

Funny but I've never seen a Tapco fail can't say that about some other mags including steel.

Tapco mags will usually run fine at the range. Be careful leaving them loaded for long periods of time. The magazines can expand and not fit the rifle properly. They also increase mag wobble in some guns like the Wasrs.

I have 3 AKs and for me I'd rather use Magpul Gen 3s over surplus any day. They're lighter (so, you can carry more) and very tough (no chance of a deep dent interfering with operation).

Only downside is expense as they cost more than surplus. That said, buy once and cry once.

I don't see them a lot and I don't know if they've got a good or bad reputation, but I have a few of the Bulgarian polymer 30 rounders with the smooth sides (as opposed to the ones with the bullet pictograms on the sides) and they seem well made.

Typically any of the steel surplus mags are good to go.

Speaking of... what's the consensus on the NEW Korean manufacture steel mags?
I typically shy away from that type of thing (think KCI Glock mags), but Koreans have been armed with AK47s since forever. You'd think they could replicate a reliable AK mag.
