    Default Whitehouse Petition (needs sigs!!!)

Probably not going to make it, but there is a petition started to remove "gunsmithing" from the ITAR......this is likely going to affect anyone in the business, and looking for a gunsmith in the future.

    Link: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov//pe...nsmithing-itar

Some of the details...."If you are a gunsmith or work on firearms, you need to read this carefully. The Federal Government, acting through the Department of State Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), has imposed significant new burdens on gunsmiths by expanding the definition of “manufacturing”. This is a big deal, as the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) and its implementing rules, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), require firearms “manufacturers” to register with DDTC and to pay a registration fee that (for new applicants) is currently $2,250 per year."

The whitehouse petition to charge Hillary got the required signatures in like two days. The response was something along the lines of "we're not even going to dignify this with a real response". No kidding. That shows just how much the administration cares about the voice of the people.....

I agree, but it is a tool at our disposal to actually announce our displeasure in actual numbers. If nothing happens (as I expect) so be it. I am also working on a letter to my congressman as well. The whole deal is BS.
