    Default Dear Senior Citizen

    Well, it finally arrived.

My very first correspondence addressing me as a senior citizen.

    Bastards.

AARP has been slowly at first and now almost daily , sending me letters that I roundcan just for showing up in my mailbox.

At work, I was the "kid" and when PPG Place was being constructed, I used to run up 10 flights of steps, turn on another water valve ,run up 10 more flights of stairs and do this till I'd reach the 40th floor every day while I was on temporary water detail (that's why I was so skinny in the thread about posting our pics).

I am now the oldest plumber in our company and relegated to walking up the 6 story dorm we are constructing in Waynesburg (I can only do about 3 flights doing 2 steps at a time now).

It is a bitch noticing my strength ,hearing, and eyesight slowly diminish.

It was bound to happen and I realize now "Here I am, the old guy".

Life has been very good to me. My whole family is healthy. None of my kids are in jail(at least yet). I have no prescription for viagra .

I did not make the millions of bucks I anticipated but was able to sock away a few pfennigs for upcoming retirement.

Well, now that that ignorant letter sender addressing me the way they did with that cherry busting salutation has been shredded, I feel better for venting these pent up emotions..

I wonder what that letter was about.

Anyone else get one of these????

    Later and thanks for listening,

Don't feel too bad Hand, my wife has been getting correspondence from AARP for at least three years now. Almost on a daily basis. She is very annoyed by this practice, she has sent them letters and e-mail asking them to stop, to no avail. Oh by the way did I mention my wife is ONLY 36 YRS. OLD ?!?!?!?!?! Thay got her and her mother mixed up, but they still wont fix it. Have a great day Senior !!

I have. My wife laughed. They got a call...bunch of dumb asshats.
I even got a card with my name on it.

Maybe it's because all the people I enjoy hanging out with are older.

At any rate, don't look at it as being old...look at it as being expierenced.

I even got a letter for a 25 year class reunion in Alabama.

My dog "Ruger" is worried about the economy because Alpo is up to $3.00 a can. That's almost $21.00 in dog money.

On a side note about that dorm.. Windstream(the telco down there) just asked my dad to come out of retirement to do the engineering to get fiber and copper into that building(dad and I are the only ones that know the underground conduit system at WYBG College). ..and an addition to the gym(I think).

We and the electricians are roughed in through the third floor. They value engineered the building by removing one course of block from each floor, going with plastic pipe in all none return air plenum areas, we are installing pex plastic water lines in lieu of copper with the exceptions of the risers, shorter studs, less drywall mud and finishing etc etc.

I haven't looked at the site services drawings as I am not running this one. I'm on vacation asking what the boss wants me to do next .

Downside is the mechanicals and recessed lighting make it a tough fit.
