New guy with ? and (bad) pic.
Hey all, great forum here. Here is a pic. of my Franchi Law 12 and my Glock 17,
I've had both since the early 90's.
The Glock I bought new at the old Windsor Sporting Goods and the Franchi was a trade I made with an old co worker.
My question is would it be a good idea to trade the Franchi in on either a Rem. 870 or a Mossberg 500 ? Both have lots of aftermarket parts to customize them.
I have probably only fired the Franchi 10 times at most. Its in very good condition. Dont know the year, no manual or anything, just the gun.
If I do decide to trade does anybody have any suggestions as to which shops would be best to visit and deal with in the York area?
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. You should be able to find a manual on the net.

I am real happy with my mossberg 500s. As that looks like a semi auto only, a trade to a Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 would seem to be a good trade (I'm not too big a fan of semi auto shotguns). Never owned a Remington 870, but I love my 500s, especially the mariner. All stainless, it makes a great shower gun, but you have to periodically swap out the shells as the brass bases will rust. If my memory serves me properly the Franchis have a high book value so trading one in might net you some extra cash too.

I don't "customize" anything I'm gonna use as a self-defense gun, why give a lawyer any thing to use against you if you ever need to actually defend yourself.
All my carry and home defense guns are just the way they built them...Honesta Mors Turpi Vita Potior ~ 3%

Re: New guy with ? and (bad) pic.
Thanks for the quick replies guys. normanvin, yes, I have found copies of the manual online.
nepawolf, yeah it is semi auto only and its actually kind of a beast to lug around, the Mossberg Mariner is a beaut. My other guns are pumps, but they are all for hunting, this one would be for HD.
tdyoung58, You've got a point, perhaps I should have worded it differently, the most I would do is maybe mount a light on it.

Hi warriorhd, and welcome.
I am also a Mossy man, have 4 and am very happy with them.
If you don't like the Law, trade her in. I would go on gunbroker and auction arms and see what the Laws are going for so that I know where I stood for $$$.

Take the short ride over the Rt. 30 bridge to Backwoods Outfitters in Columbia. Trade it in for an 870, 7+1. I think Tom has them for just over $300.

As for a shop to deal with, check out STUBBYGEAR on rt30 just west of YORK. His shop is about 200yards past where 116 and 30 cross (Rutters). You can't miss the shop. Right now he has 3 duece and a halfs in the lot.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been googling the crap out of Mossbergs and
Remingtons, and I think I am gonna trade the Franchi.
Stubbys and Backwoods Outfitters, will have to check them out, they are both about the same distance for me.
