I just read the following: Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith and other city officials are worried that the outcome of the George Zimmerman trial could spark “violence” and have crafted a “secret law enforcement” plan to deal with potential social disorder. A CNN report shows Sanford police going door to door in an attempt to calm residents about possible unrest in response to the Zimmerman verdict. Former Chicago police officer Paul Huebl stated "that social disorder could be used as a pretext for gun confiscation in a similar vein to how Hurricane Katrina was used as a justification to disarm residents of New Orleans".

Doesn't matter. A federal judge ruled the Katrina incident was unconstitutional. That ruling is precedence enough to be used in the neighboring US Circuit.

agree but that doesnt help anyone when a cop shows up at your door with an illegal bill of sale registry at the discretion of the mayor/governor. yea, maybe you can sue later but that doesnt help if you die at the hands of some looters.

True.. They can also introduce them to John Bad Elk v US if they get too far out of hand and try to arrest them without warrant or probable cause for not surrendering their arms.

The Sanford Police should be going door to door to make sure everyone has enough ammo. Tell the unarmed people to stay with someone who is armed.
