Handguns should be banned
I'd like to virtually slap the piss out of this man.

In a letter published Tuesday, James Rayburn spouts a lot of drivel suggesting that passage of the so-called “castle doctrine” bill would make anyone safer. His example of the beaten roadside would-be helper is perfect for demonstrating the insanity of this law.
Suppose all parties in the incident were armed for “self defense,” as Rayburn suggests. Once the fracas started, the two men who beat the other motorist would much more likely have just shot him once he produced a gun (as Rayburn wants), then claimed that he attacked them while they were stranded on the side of the road. Though they wouldn’t be able to steal his $50, that would be a small price to pay for exoneration from murder, which is what this law allows. Someone would have been killed.
If fellow citizens are encouraged to use handguns in self defense, none of us can feel safe leaving our houses. People who buy handguns are more than twice as likely to die in a suicide or homicide as people who don’t. For their family members, it’s three times as likely.
Handguns facilitate crime, they don’t prevent it. They should be banned from our society. Period.Peace, Prosperity, and Liberty

Re: Handguns should be banned
they are trying to make laws based on assumptions. and the knuckle headed media has there back. we need our own news media to show the sheep that guns can and will save lives. and slowly but surely will deter crime.

Re: Handguns should be banned
I thought the whole point of this country was that we had the freedom to make our own decisions?
By banning handguns, trans fats, cigarettes, you name it, the government is overstepping its boundaries. It bothers me that these politicians believe they have the right to make such laws..."Improvise. Adapt. Overcome."

Re: Handguns should be banned
If all violence were banned, there would be no need for guns except for target shooting.

People forget how easy it is to choke someone to death. Hands should be banned.
