    Default Empty Holster Protest begins!

Some of you know this already, but the Empty Holster Protest, sponsored by Students for Concealed Carry on Campus, is starting tomorrow (10/22) and going until Friday, 10/26. The goal is to raise awareness to the fact that legally licensed, law-abiding citizens who are able to carry firearms in banks, shopping malls, and grocery stores are not permitted to carry firearms on many university and college campuses.

If you attend a university, or work for one, or have any reason to visit one, consider strapping on an empty holster this week as a statement of support for allowing people with LTCF's to carry on campus. Be ready to talk with people and calmly explain why it's a good idea for law-abiding citizens to be armed on college campuses just like they're allowed to be armed elsewhere.

More information is at ConcealedCampus.com, including protest details, press releases, answers to common questions, and more. Thanks!

Good luck man. A just cause indeed.

There are a number of us participating at Penn State, and the local media is picking it up. There were stories last night and this morning on the news (TV), and the campus paper is going to run something tomorrow.

I support you guys, but unfortunately i can't participate. I already carry against school policy and it wouldn't be in my best interest to advertise. Frankly, it would be foolish of me to go unarmed just to make a statement.

Well just carry an empty holster out in the open to make a point. Join in. You can still carry concealed.

last thing i need is extra scrutiny if i have a gun I'm not supposed to have on me. I spend a lot of time and effort being the grey man. No sense ruining it.

If someone decides to shoot up the common area at my college because their girlfriend left them and they're failing history, that's when I'll make my statement.
